A long time friend.
Thunbergia has been a gardeners friend for a long time. Many years ago it was only available from seed, but since huge advances in breeding now available as a strong and vigorous vegetatively produced plant. Lucky for us now also available in more colors. We are proud to offer you a new color for the first time in many years.
When we evaluate a Thunbergia we look that it ha,s ‘ Alata’ in the second name we believe that’s the strongest grower and produces the most flowers. All our Thunbergia have those great genes.
I am sure that you have all experienced the vigor and flower power from the Susy series and we believe Sunnysusy Brownie is a great addition. “Brownie” the name alone is inspiration enough to add them to your order. A rich color like a brownie, you can just, “taste” them.
Lemon Star has bright yellow flowers that are the biggest in the series.
Red Orange is our best seller so far, until Brownie will take the top spot this year I think.
Thunbergia needs something to climb on. A pyramid of bamboo sticks a trellis or a tomato cage will do a great job. In the garden when your customer take this home it continues to climb on their lattice and eaves troughs. I like to joke that it climbs on slow moving cars and people.
For 2019 try to put all colors in one container. This allows you to charge a premium and add that extra Pizzazz to the garden. Michiel Verheul
